Apple Music's New Streaming Guidelines Could Hurt Spotify

Apple raised the rate at which they will pay royalities to artists to 9.1¢ per 100 streams, significantly larger than the current rate of .00408¢ per hundred streams that Spotify and other streaming services pay artists with music catalogs on those platforms. Spotify is also currently facing a large number of lawsuits from artists concerning back pay. Could this put both Spotify’s user and artist base in between a rock and a hard place?
